Accessibility Statement
Should you need any assistance while you’re here, just ask a member of the Assembly Rooms team – we are happy to help. The ‘Let Me In’ Assessment undertaken in January 2025 rated the venue at 75%.
The main entrance to the venue is on the same level as the path from the High Street. Entrance is through a large glass door which opens outwards and can stay open to allow easy access. If help is required to open the door, there is a doorbell there to push that rings in the venue. A member of the Assembly Rooms Team will come and assist you.Â
The ground floor of the Assembly Rooms (Main Hall, Lower Room and Ground Floor Information Hub, Kitchen) is fully accessible and there is an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities on this level. The first floor is only accessible via a staircase, which is wide in design with large steps and fitted with an easy-to-use Acorn Stair Lift, which can be used independently or with support from staff if preferred. Registered assistance dogs and Therapy Dogs are welcome throughout the venue.Â
The Main Hall is equipped with Auracast Assisted Listening System to support visitors with hearing limitations. Devices to join this system are available on request and selected smart phones can connect directly to the system. Our Virtual Tour aims to support children, young people and adults with Autistic Spectrum conditions, communication difficulties, other learning disabilities and those with English as a second language.Â
It can be used to help you understand the venue before you arrive and  have a better experience whilst in the building.     Â
If you’d like to discuss any access requirements before your visit, please contact the venue using the phone number / email address above.
